SELECTMEN  ASK LEGISLATORS  TO CONVEY BLUE  HILLS PARKLAND OPEN TO PUBLIC SINCE 1936

Intended use:
king-size parking lot
for business abutter

This letter addresses four local legislators and asks them to facilitate Hart's business expansion by obtaining MDC parkland for him. (large scan)

It follows the script laid out four months earlier by Lantana attorney Jeffrey Mullan in a letter to MDC General Counsel Thomas Gray.
Although two of five selectmen would later tell the Patriot-Ledger that they had acted too quickly and should have consulted the Conservation Commission, the swap's chief defenders, Sen. Joyce and MDC Commissioner Balfour, would continue to cite the board's unanimous support, right up through the bill's passage in August.
