Instructions and Rules

• Each applicant may submit a maximum of 2 images.
• All photo submissions are due by midnight, September 15, 2008.
• Winners will be announced and prizes awarded by October 30, 2008.
• One prize will be awarded to the winner in each of the following age categories:
  • 18 years and younger (as of September 15, 2008)
  • 19 years and older
• Both winners will receive a check for $150 and a professional quality enlarged print of their winning photograph. Winning and runner-up photos will be displayed on the FBH website.

• With each submission, you must include an entry form with all information filled out.

Subjects may depict:

• The park's natural beauty (landscape, flowers, plants, animals, birds, etc.)
• The challenge of preserving the park and its fragile resources against threats
• Activities in the park (hiking, skiing, cycling, horse riding, skating, swimming, blueberry picking, ice fishing, or other)
• Other park related subjects
• All photographs and subjects must be taken within the Blue Hills park boundaries.

Photographs should be submitted in the following formats:

• Digital (color or B&W)
• JPEG (.jpg) or TIFF
• Maximum size: 10 MB
• RAW or other proprietary formats cannot be accepted.
• Light digital editing is allowed (such as sharpening focus or adjusting color balance), but major subject elements cannot be digitally added or deleted, or composites created.

• If you mail a CD, you must include a paper entry. If you email your images you must include all contact information listed under 'Label your images' below.

Label your images

• Submissions must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form received via email or postal mail before the contest deadline.
• Each CD-ROM must be labeled with your name, phone number and address and must be accompanied by a paper entry form.
• If submitted by email, include in the body of the email your name, street address, phone number, email address, where your photo was taken in the Blue Hills, date photo was taken, and photo title/subject. Any story associated with the photo would be welcome.

Contest Deadline, Awards

• Submissions must be received by midnight on September 15, 2008.
• Winners will be announced by October 30, 2008.
• Judging will be by a panel of 3 experts.

Terms

• By submitting your photographs, you agree to allow FBH to use the images in the organization's educational materials, lectures, publications and non-profit promotional materials.
• By submitting the photos and signing the submission form, you certify that the image(s) submitted were taken by you and that you have not used part or all of an image taken or owned by another individual, organization, or corporation.
• FBH agrees not to transfer, license or sell reproduction rights for your photographs or use them for commercial purposes.
• Submissions will not be returned.
