Mr. Fred Laskey
Executive Director
MWRA
100 First Avenue, Charlestown Navy Yard
Boston, MA 02129

Dear Director Laskey,

Over the past months I have received a substantial amount of correspondence from my constituents voicing their concerns regarding the proposed MWRA water storage project at the Blue Hills Reservation on Chickatawbut Road in Quincy. The development of this project would in turn destroy over eight acres of wetland in the heart of the Blue Hills Reservation.

Please understand that the preservation of these wetlands is of great concern to my constituents. I agree that it is in the public interest to protect and preserve our wetlands for the beneficial resources they provide in protecting our public and private water supplies, serving as a flood control measure and by protecting wildlife habitats.

I respectfully request an update on any plans to comply with the concerns of residents within the area. I am sure that a reasonable, appropriate and economically feasible mitigation proposal, which will preserve our wetlands, can be successfully accomplished.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this matter; I look forward your reply.
  Sincerely,

William C. Galvin
State Representative
