This is a large PowerPoint file (1.9MB--see link below) describing two sites where filled wetlands could be restored to mitigate for the loss of 8-9 acres of protected wetlands at the Reservoir. We are especially interested in the site involving the 40-yr-old abandoned highway ramps at the Rt. 95/Rt. 128 interchange in Canton.

Attention: Judy Jacobs, Friends of the Blue Hills

Judy,

Per your request, I have attached a PowerPoint document that provides summary information on two potential wetland restoration / mitigation sites within / abutting the Blue Hills Reservation. As stated in the document, our program produced a wetlands restoration plan for the Neponset River watershed in 2001 that identifies 171 potential wetland restoration sites. If the two sites in the attached document do not pan out, there are other potential mitigation opportunities in the watershed that could be investigated further.

Please keep me informed of any major developments regarding the investigation of the two summarized sites. We like to keep track of the restoration sites identified in our inventories.
